Dark Knight star nominated for award
'The Dark Knight' star Christian Bale is among the nominees for the National Movie Awards in the UK.
Bale is joined in the Best Male performance category by the stars of three other superhero films: Robert Downey Jr ('Iron Man'), Edward Norton ('The Incredible Hulk') and Will Smith ('Hancock').
Other nominees include Pierce Brosnan ('Mamma Mia!'), Patrick Dempsey ('Enchanted') and Johnny Depp ('Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Fleet Street').
In the Best Female Performance category at that place are nominations for, among others, Brosnan's 'Mamma Mia!' co-star Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett ('Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'), Angelina Jolie ('Wanted'), Nicole Kidman ('The Golden Compass'), Ellen Page ('Juno') and Sarah Jessica Parker ('Sex and the City').
